CROYDE AND LOCAL AREA

Croyde is world famous for its surfing and has to be one of the best beach-breaks in the country.

The Tarka trail is brilliant for cyclists and walkers alike and with the beautiful beaches and miles of unspoilt coastline you will not be bored for a new view.

In the summer the village is extremely hot being in between the cliffs and effectively enjoys its own micro-climate- don't forget your suntan lotion!!

There is a wealth of local history in the area which the tourist information centre in Braunton can give you more info on and there are brochures in the house to point you in the right direction.

DIRECTIONS TO GET TO MOUNTAIN ASH HOUSE

Leave Barnstaple following the road for Ilfracoombe and when you reach the main set of lights in Braunton turn left and follow the road for about four miles to Croyde - On entering the village drive about four hundred yards and follow the road as it bears left passing the Thatch Inn on the right . Follow the road past the past office and then after another three hundred yards you will see St Marys Chapel on the left hand side.

Mountain Ash House is then on the left hand side - if you miss it turn into the Manor Pub Car park and then come back.

Please note: There are only two parking places at Mountain Ash House so if you come in a group with more than two vehicles you can park in the road along the side of the Pub Car Park.
